When to Use
- User encounters an unfamiliar medical term or diagnosis
- User wants to understand their lab results or test values
- User asks what a prescription abbreviation means (QD, BID, PRN, etc.)
- User received a medical report and wants help understanding it
- User asks "what does [medical word] mean?"
How to Use
- Identify the term or phrase to explain
- Provide a plain-language definition (avoid other jargon)
- Give context: where this term is used, why it matters
- For lab values: explain normal range and what high/low means
- For prescriptions: spell out dosing instructions clearly
- Offer to explain related terms the user might encounter
